Every bibliophile has his or her own favourite places to read, so I thought I’d share mine.
My bed!
First and foremost, I love reading in my bed. I particularly enjoy waking up on a weekend morning, grabbing a hot drink (preferably a vanilla latte) and then going back to bed for a couple of hours with a good book. This generally leads to me falling back to sleep, but that’s half the fun of it!
Cosy coffee shops
If I must get out of bed, then my next favourite place to read, especially in the winter, is a lovely cosy coffee shop. Coffee shops are particularly good spots to sit and read during week days when they’re not too busy – in fact one of my favourite things to do on a day off is to go shopping or swimming and then relax with a coffee and a good book afterwards (festive drinks menus preferred).
On holiday
Reading on holiday is an absolute must. I read four books on my last holiday and it was glorious. I was spoilt by going to the Bahamas on my last hol, which is advisable for the ultimate reading experience, but anywhere with a bit of sun and a pool or a beach will do. Swap the vanilla latte for a fruity cocktail and I’m done.
